1. General Terms

1.1 Agreement to Terms

By using PatternsinGrain.com (the "Site"), purchasing products, or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Refund Policy, and our Shipping Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our Site or purchase our products.

1.2 Business Information

Patterns in Grain is a sole proprietorship operating in Southern New Hampshire, United States, specializing in handcrafted end-grain cutting boards.

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

2. Products & Orders

2.1 Product Descriptions

We strive to display our products as accurately as possible. However, due to the handcrafted nature of our cutting boards:

  • Natural wood variations in grain, color, and figure are expected and not considered defects
  • Photos are representative; each board is unique
  • Dimensions may vary slightly (within ±1/8 inch)
  • Wood species may vary based on availability for similar aesthetic results

2.2 Pricing

All prices are in US Dollars (USD) and are subject to change without notice. The price charged will be the price displayed at the time of purchase.

2.3 Order Acceptance

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including:

  • Product availability
  • Errors in pricing or product information
  • Suspected fraudulent activity
  • Credit card authorization issues

If your order is cancelled after payment, you will receive a full refund.

2.4 Custom Orders

Custom orders require approval and confirmation before production begins. Once production starts, custom orders cannot be cancelled or modified. Custom orders are non-refundable.

3. Payment

3.1 Payment Methods

We accept major credit cards and other payment methods available through Shopify's secure payment processing. Payment is required at the time of order.

3.2 Payment Security

We do not store credit card information. All payment processing is handled securely through Shopify's PCI-compliant payment gateway.

3.3 Sales Tax

Sales tax will be charged where required by law based on your shipping address.

4. Shipping & Delivery

4.1 Shipping

Please refer to our Shipping & Refund Policy for detailed shipping information, including rates, timeframes, and local pickup options.

4.2 Risk of Loss

Title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery to the shipping carrier. We are not responsible for delays caused by the shipping carrier.

4.3 Address Accuracy

You are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address. We are not responsible for orders shipped to incorrect addresses provided by the customer.

6. Product Use & Care

6.1 Intended Use

Our cutting boards are intended for normal household food preparation use. Misuse or failure to follow care instructions voids any warranty.

6.2 Care Requirements

Proper care is essential to maintain your board. Please review our Care & Maintenance page for detailed instructions. Failure to properly care for your board (including regular oiling, avoiding dishwashers, and preventing water damage) voids the warranty.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Ownership

All content on this Site, including but not limited to text, images, logos, designs, and product descriptions, is the property of Patterns in Grain and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 Limited License

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive license to view and use this Site for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not:

  • Reproduce, distribute, or display Site content without permission
  • Use product images or descriptions for commercial purposes
  • Copy designs or patterns for reproduction

8. Limitation of Liability

Our cutting boards are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, except as specifically stated in our warranty policy.

8.2 Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Patterns in Grain shall not be liable for:

  • Damages exceeding the purchase price of the product
  • Issues arising from misuse or failure to follow care instructions

8.3 Natural Materials

Wood is a natural material that responds to environmental conditions. We are not liable for warping, cracking, or changes in appearance due to improper care, extreme temperatures, humidity changes, or normal aging.

9. User Conduct

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with the Site's operation
